| Description: | The Staff RN is accountable for the professional nursing functions of supporting, planning, directing, communicating, and evaluating direct patient care, including elderly, adults, adolescents, children and post-natal, and for providing an environment of unsurpassed service.
This position is 0.7 FTE. Most of the shifts are evening rotations and every other weekend. Every other holiday. |
| Duties: | The Staff RN utilizes problem solving, decision making methodology in planning, communicating, directing and evaluating direct patient care to patients and is responsible for her own personal growth and development.
I. Planning
(a) Plans for delivery of optimum patient care that promotes an environment of excellence, focusing on providing quality care to patients and family.
(b) Plans for efficient unit and patient care activities.
II. Directing
(a) Assesses and delivers direct patient care to patients based on established unit standards.
(b) Facilitates the utilization of available resources for optimum patient care.
III. Communicating
(a) Communicates effectively as an advocate for patient/family.
(b) Serves as a resource to inform, clarify, and educate patient/family.
IV. Professional Growth and Development
(a) Demonstrates personal/professional growth and competent nursing
V. Evaluating -
(a) Evaluates effectiveness of goals and standards of unit/hospital/department.
VI. Promotes an environment of teamwork, customer service and positive communications.

| Qualifications: | Education
• Valid current Wisconsin Registered Nurse License
Experience
• At least 2 years acute care experience preferred
• Previous Emergency Department or ICU experience desired
• Current BLS, ACLS and TNCC, or must obtain within 6 months of hire
Physical Requirements
Continuous (67-100% or 6-8 hours/8 hr day): walking/standing.
Frequent (34-66% or 2.5-5.5hrs/8 hr day): patient repositioning 0# to 200#; pushing/pulling of 0# to 400#; patient transfers of 0# to 100#; repetitive movement.
Occasional (1-33% or 1-2 hours/8 hr day): sitting/balancing; reaching from above shoulder height to floor height; climbing; lifting/carrying from 0# to 25#; Crawling/Kneeling/˝Kneeling/Squatting; pivoting; fine manual dexterity required.
Must be able to be around hazardous substances and harmful physical agents.
good vision; normal color vision; normal hearing.
Able to tolerate respirator hood. |
