Phlebotomist

Description:We a seeking an individual to work a 0.5 FTE (20 hours per week) with a work schedule of Monday - Friday from 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. with some additional weekends.

The main job responsibilties of the position would be to perform routine phlebotomy, waived testing, specimen collection, Holter monitors and EKGs, breath alcohol testing.
Duties:1. Performs duties following department policies to ensure equal care and service to neonatal, child, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients
2. Collects specimens: Blood, Drug Screens, Urinalysis, Breath Alcohol Test, H. pylon Breath Test
3. Accurately logs and labels specimens
4. Ensures proper coding, and proper documentation on requisition
5. Prepares, educates, and initiates Holter and Event monitors
6. Performs EKG�s
7. Promotes an environment of team work, customer service and positive communication
8. Participates in the departments infection control and quality improvement programs
Qualifications:EDUCATION
� High school graduate
� Medical Assistant or Nursing Assistant with some training in phlebotomy or certification as phlebotomist.

SKILLS
� Good customer service skills
� Organized; good at meeting people
� Good communication skills
� Neat in work space as well as personal neatness
� Able to perform waived testing precisely and accurately.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Continuous: Standing/Balancing
Frequent: Fine Manual Dexterity Required, Pivoting and Walking
Occasional: Sitting/ Balancing, Reaching From Floor to Above Shoulder Height, Pushing/Pulling 0# to 400#, Climbing, Lifting/Carrying 0# to 40#, Squatting/ Crawling/ Kneeling/ � Kneeling/ Crouching/ Stooping, and Repetitive Movements.
