Description:Provides total nursing care for child, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients, participates in patient and family teaching and works cooperatively with ancillary nursing and other patient care personnel in maintaining standards for professional nursing practice under the direct supervision of a registered nurse.

Position has no guaranteed hours. Shifts are days and evenings, some weekends and holidays.
Duties:MAJOR
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Maintains the standards of nursing care and implements the policies and procedures of the hospital and Nursing Department.
2. Reports pertinent observations and reactions regarding patients to the appropriate person; and records those observations accurately and concisely.
3. Administers medications and performs treatments to assigned patients
4. Participates in economical utilization of supplies and ensures that equipment is maintained in a clean and safe manner.
5. Administers direct patient care to child, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients using professional nursing skills and judgement as needed.
6. Participates in the maintenance of a clean and safe work environment
7. Maintains and updates skills.
8. Promotes an environment of teamwork customer service and positive communications.
Qualifications:QUALIFICATIONS:
Education
� Enrolled in an approved school of nursing with 2 or less semesters to complete, leading to registered nurse or, who has failed the licensure examination and is awaiting retake of the exam,
� Current CPR certification

Certification
� Is on the Wisconsin Nurse Aide Registry as a result of completing an approved nurse aide training and testing program OR
� Has successfully completed a basic nursing course with a minimum of 32 hours of clinical experience through an accredited school for professional or licensed practical nurses. Must be able to present a copy of school transcript proving this course completion.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Continuous (67-100% or 6-8 hours/8 hr day): walking/standing.

Frequent (34-66% or 2.5-5.5 hours/8 hr day): patient repositioning of 0# to 200#; pushing/pulling of 0# to 400#; patient transfers of 0# to 100#; repetitive movement.

Occasional (1-33% or 1-2 hours/8 hr day): sitting/balancing; reaching from above shoulder height to floor height; climginb; lifting/carrying from 0# to 25#; Crawling/Kneeling/�Kneeling/Squatting; pivoting; fine manual dexterity.

Must be able to be around hazardous substandes, harmful physical agents and able to tolerate respirator hood.
Good vision and normal color vision required.
Normal hearing required.
